One of These Things Doesn’t Belong Here

DAILY SNACK

You Tube is my generation of parents’ video store.

Suddenly we can find programs that we remember loving as kids and share them with our own children.

My Dad loved renting movies he hadn’t seen for years and watching them with us.

(He still does, actually.)

Young C and I found this gem on You Tube the other day:

We followed that up with a few others on that theme,

And then played our own games sorting stuff from around the house.

It was edutainment!

Hey. Sesame Street Doesn’t Suck

DAILY SNACK

At its prime, Sesame Street had a little something for everybody. The educational content was foremost, of course, but there were lots of gags aimed at mom and dad, too. By the time my youngest siblings were watching (mid-nineties), though, it just seemed l-a-m-e. I was pleasantly surprised, then, to see this aired on Sesame Street this morning. It’s not comic genius, but it is a step in the right direction.

This Just In

Colum is obsessed with YouTube clips of old Cookie Monster numbers. This is his Dad’s doing and I’m not usually a fan of any lit screen media for toddlers, but sometimes you’ve just got to roll with the punches. They’re pretty charming, too. Check it out:
